Tuesday, November 26th - ACA Annual Thanksgiving Breakfast

College Visits. High school students are allowed three excused absences college visits a year, but they must communicate with their teachers and the main office ahead of time. They must also bring back something from the college verifying their visit.

STEM UPDATE

STEM kits and supplies have been ordered with state funds for each class that requested them.

Second grade students went to the Info Age Science & History Museum. The museum bills itself as a Unique and Fascinating Journey Through the Progressions of Science and Technology. Their trip included a STEM project.

Various STEM activities have been completed as part of our science curriculum

Mr. Roche from the Delaware Valley Science Fair made a presentation to all 6-8 grade students about creating a science or engineering project to enter into the local science fair here in NJ. He highlighted two students from Pennsylvania that went on to win national awards for their projects. Mr. Roche will be back at ACA on November 19th, to meet with the students who expressed an interest in creating a project. Mr. Roche has had a number of former students who went on to place nationally and at ISEF (International Science & Engineering Fair) competitions. He is the retired head of the research program at High Technology High School.

ACA has registered to participate in the International Christian STEM Competition to take place at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona on April 4 & 5. Teams are in the process of being chosen to compete in one of the four competition categories. The students will be part of a team that has to create their project and document everything in an Engineering Design Notebook.

We are also working with a team of students from Stevens Institute of Technology who are planning to come and present their senior design project on robotics.
