Teacher Tuesday: Hannah Scheufler

February 6, 2018

Hannah Scheulfer, Fifth Grade

Tell us about yourself.

I love the beach, and being outdoors. I was always actively involved in various sports and other activities both in and out of school. I have had the opportunity to travel to Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Canada, and El Salvador on missions trips with various teams from my church. I love to travel and explore new places. I have been serving in Sunday school and the youth group at my church for the past few years, and this is where my love for children and teaching grew and developed. It was through the body of Christ at my church that I was encouraged to pursue my childhood dream of becoming a teacher.

Tell us about how God brought you to ACA.

I graduated from Kean University with my Bachelor's degree in Education. I began substitute teaching in various districts across the state for several years in a variety of different classrooms and age levels. Being in a classroom filled with students has always been something that has filled my heart with such joy. Through my years of substitute teaching, the Lord continued to confirm in my heart that this is the profession He had planned for me to be in. During my efforts to "get my foot in the door" in different districts, I always said that I would love to have the opportunity to go back and teach at the school where I had spent my elementary and middle school years, from K-8th grade. In the Lord's perfect timing, He answered this prayer, and opened the door for me to come and teach at ACA.

Why ACA?

Ambassador Christian Academy is a place where both the academic success of the students as well as the desire to see them grow in their faith, go hand in hand. The body of Christ here at Ambassador is built on the solid rock, Jesus Christ and is built up in love and encouraging one another in prayer. The community of people at ACA are first of all devoted to Christ, and thus devoted to each other, and ultimately to each of the students that walk through the doors, ready to pour into them both academically and spiritually on a daily basis. It is truly a blessing to be a part of the ACA family.
